The Government makes such a big thing out of changing the flag (so people will not notice little things like massive health funding cuts), but not a word was spoken in the media before they changed the currency. I guess that most people would hardly notice, but I think that this was a lost opportunity.
I believe that it would have been a great opportunity to phase-out the $5 note and replace it with a coin. The government might do this if most of them are getting worn out too rapidly, but I have another motivation.
The issue that I make, is just that the coin is the traditional payment of all buskers. When was the last time that buskers got a pay rise?
